Sometimes it’s easy to forget that God is always working behind the scenes, taking care of what we need even before we know we need it. One of our members shares this story of His faithfulness.
I have automatic withdrawal for my car payment every month. It is supposed to come out on the 20th. I didn’t even think to look at my bank statement when I saw that I had $400 in my account on Sunday. So I went out to dinner on Saturday with friends. When I got home I checked my statement and lo and behold the money hadn’t been withdrawn yet for the car payment. I had been paying an extra $50 per month so I could pay it off sooner. I thought if I could undo that extra amount, I’d have the money I needed in my account because I only needed $35. Well, too late, it showed that it had already come out of my account. I have really been working to trust God for my finances and so I sat down and told my Daddy that I needed $35 Sunday. When I didn’t have any answer after church, I went to the check cashing store… closed on Sunday! I went home and asked a friend if I could borrow $125, because I also needed gas and a “cushion”. Figured since Papa didn’t come through for me, I had to do something. I was upset, disappointed, and just darned frustrated with Him and told him so.
I was checking my account this morning to make sure that the money I had borrowed last night made it to the bank before the account would have been overdrawn. I was shocked and amazed! There was a refund from a fingerprinting company for $60.75 for fingerprints I had paid for last year and never had them done! That would have more than covered what I needed and given me money for some gas to boot!
God was faithful, even when I was not. So now I am apologizing to Papa and asking him to forgive me for not trusting Him.
This is such a testimony of his goodness to me!
